There are many expressions of mentoring including through your local church.
Mentoring can take place between any age group including peers.
Some people do not feel qualified to be a mentor, but really a mentor is anyone who will listen and care for others.
Even though “availability” is the key characteristic needed to be a mentor, many training opportunities exist including:

National Mentoring Resource Center
And many, many, many more books and training courses.
Opportunities include through your local church and non-profits plus some nationwide mentoring programs such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, Friends for Youth, and many, many others.
